Service Description

"The Seasoned Actor Workshop" is a recurring acting and audition intensive, designed to elevate the actors' work and streamline their preparation process. Convening once weekly for a four-week period, Georgia leads an intimate group of actors along the path of working smarter, not harder, by helping them tap into their own unique sensibilities to ensure consistently present and powerful auditions. Participating actors will select and prepare their own material for the first class only; the creative discoveries made in Class 1 will help inform the mock-audition material that will be assigned to them for Class 2, and so on. (Alternately, actors may always opt to use class time to prepare material for any actual upcoming auditions.) Assigned material consists of comedic and dramatic scenes from plays, films, and TV shows, as well as monologues, songs, and any other material that may be requested and/or beneficial. In multi-character scenes, actors will act as off-screen readers for each other. Each actor will have the opportunity to work in any and all performance mediums throughout the course, and all on-camera work will be filmed and shared with the class, for educational purposes. While the phrase "seasoned actor" typically refers to one with ample experience, The Seasoned Actor Workshop gets its name from a comparison made between Georgia's coaching, and a chef's cooking: guided by intuition, exploration, precision, and education, Georgia adeptly detects the "missing ingredients" in each performance, and "seasons" each actor accordingly. Actors with significant experience and training are welcome and encouraged to participate, as are those who are newer to the biz, as Georgia is of the strong opinion that advanced actors can learn just as much from newer actors as beginners can learn from more experienced actors. Any student who has completed one four-week segment is welcome to re-enroll in another, as each round of workshops is as unique as the actors involved. For this reason, many students opt to take the workshop more than once, forming a supportive and talented community of The Seasoned Actor Workshop alumni; all of whom are entitled to Alumni Discounts on future workshops and/ private coaching sessions.
